::The trip had seemed like it took forever. Traveling across the full length of Tirnanog the King, Queen, and entourage of guards finally found themselves on Vangard soil. Desmond rode in the front of the convoy on his white stallion. A few of his officers rode close to his side. He knew little of Vangard but had taken liking into the scenery as they neared the castle. He would lead the convoy through the castle gates and up to the main steps of the palace. Dismounting his stead with ease the reigns were given to the first dismounted soldier near him that he set eyes on. His clothing looked rather ceremonial. Black pants were tucked into shined black riding boots. The pants being held up by a gold linked chain that served as a belt. His torso was covered by a white leather covered cuirass with a gold trim design on either side. To the cuirass were two crests pinned on either side of where his collar bone would be. Those crest would keep the long flowing black came with royal blue design kept to his body. Turning he moved to the carriage to get Isabelle::
: Two guards dismounted their horses, moving to the carriage to assist their Queen. Isabelle had anxiously been awaiting putting her feet on ground again, finding the trip not nearly as exciting as she had been anticipating. However, she certainly had to admit that the scenery was absolutely lovely here in Vangard; making the wait a bit easier. Delicate digits took up the fronts of her dress as she stepped out of the carriage, aqua hued orbs giving a brief look around. Hands came to fold at her waist when feet met the ground, the golden gown crafted of fine silk -- adorned with pearls to create an embroidered look amongst the dark gold and white vine-like decorations managed to remain in good condition throughout the ride. Steps were taken to the King's side, wind tossing those ebony strands of silk that tumbled past her shoulders in waves, top pulled back into a lovely design with gold and white woven in and topped with what appeared to be gold pearl and diamond encrusted mock crown. Ivory features were placid with all but a small, thin smile. That noble-like exterior resting atop her shoulders and transforming her into that perfectly poised creature. Now, she would wait at his side until his next move. :
As the guards spotted the party arriving, two set off to track down the Queen and her advisor, while the rest met the King, Queen, and their guards at the bottom of the main steps. They had been instructed to usher the guests to the meeting hall. One stepped up to the pair. "Welcome to Vangard, if you follow me, I will take you to the meeting hall where the Queen will be waiting for you." He offered a kind welcoming smile, when they seemed ready, he would turn and lead the way up the stairs and though the halls of the castle. In the mean time, one of the two guards had tracked down Elizabeth, to notify her the King and Queen had arrive. "Thank you." She spoke to the guard. She would turn and lean down to place a soft kiss upon the sleeping Marea's head before lifting her gaze the one who would be watching over her while Liz was in the meeting. "Thank you." She spoke softly before turning to make her way to the meeting hall. Her once again slender figure was wrapped in a dress of a sage green hues, making the green in those hazel green hues pop even more. Ebony ringlets tumbled past her shoulders loosely. Hurried steps carried her down the now familiar halls to the meeting hall. Didn't take her long really, before she stood in front of her doors. Elizabeth would push them open and slip into the room, gaze traveling around as she stepped in further, in search of Cerdwyn or their guests.
Cerdwyn had silently been awaiting the royals of Tirnanog in the throne room, resting outside the balcony to observe the lands beyond, letting herself fall into thought. She felt nervous but not about meeting the couple...more like nervous about herself. It was why she made sure to have Elizabeth there, one who understood the things she's been going through. She was also thankful that his majesty decided to come to Vangard....she did not wish to leave her sister in the state she was in. The door of the throne room opened and that cerulean gaze peered through the sheer curtains to notice the guard, who would inform her of the king and queen's arrival. Soft 'clicks' of her heels drew her closer to him and he'd accompany her to the meeting hall that had been prepared for this occasion, and she was the first to arrive. A small fire burned in the hearth, wine and fruits, along with an array of cheeses and bread were also set out upon the dark wooded table where they would sit to discuss the alliance...or, if they preferred, there were comfortable chairs and couches near the fire instead. With a deep, drawn in sigh, she let it out slowly before smoothing out the front of that navy dress, embroidered in silver to match the small but intricate and elegantly designed crown atop those dark curls. Attention instantly went to the door once more as it opened, smiling to her friend as she arrived just in time. As the guards let the king and queen of Tirnanog down the hall to the room, they would soon be announced properly as they entered.
::He would offer his arm to Isabelle. That calm settle look covered his features. A look of confidence and pride rested deep in the brown of his eyes. Once Isabelle was ready he turned his attention to the guard that approached the two:: Thank you. ::His guards would remain outside. Setting forward and ascending up the stairs he kept his eyes forward. Had it not been for the calm demeanor about him he might have looked like a statue standing tall. Once inside that would all change. The inside of the palace had caught his attention. His eyes slowly roamed the walls and down the hallway. Once to the door he would wait for himself and Isabelle to be announced to the queen and her advisor. Once announced he took moderately paced almost calculated looking steps into the meeting hall. Eyes rested on Cerdwyn. A small smile would curve his lips as well:: Greetings Queen DeValian ::This was the first time he had seen her. Kind of odd since they were neighbors::
: Isabelle's eyes remained in front of her, that smallish chin held level with the floor which she walked upon. Like her husband, her attention was allowed to roam ever so much once in side. Blues shifted across the castle prior to halting in front of the door. Isabelle allowed a small smile to linger on her tiers when they were introduced, those feature twisting into kindness, softness and the like -- which was the normality of Isabelle. One arm remained on her Desmond's while the other remained in that proper placement at her waistline. Chin dipped in a friendly 'hello', a greeting in itself as knees bent in a small curtsy -- the formal greeting. Then, a nod was given the woman who she assumed was either the Queen's or the Princess' advisor whom they had been told would be present. :
Elizabeth would offer a kind reassuring smile to her friend as she caught her eye. She would move over to where she stood, and take her place off to the side. Was actually the first time she was in one of meetings as the advisor, all of the times before her and Cerdwyn's roles had been reversed. As the two would enter, she would offer a nod accompanied by a smile and a curtsy. Her eyes would lift once again to them. Hues would scan over them, taking them in. An old habit of hers. Gaze would shift to Cerdwyn for a moment. She was here to help her friend however she needed her to.
Yes, she was very glad Elizabeth would be at her side this day. It eased that troubled mind. But such ill thoughts on other matters were quickly pushed aside when the doors opened once again and the two entered. A sincere smile found her lips and she acknowledged them with a respectful bow of the head and curtsy. "Welcome to Vangard," she finally spoke, voice tinted with that accent. "I want to thank you both for taking the journey here. I am very grateful." She had written to his majesty about her sister and was happy it was not a problem for him and his queen to venture to her home. A few steps forward, she would stand beside her friend, "This is my advisor, Lady Elizabeth Xamus." She kindly introduced her before she gestured with her hand to the table and chairs set out for them. "Please, make yourself comfortable."
Thank you. It is an honor to finally meet you and most appreciated that you have accepted our audience. ::He would offer a bow of his head. Once lifted his attention shifted to lady Elizabeth:: Greeting Lady Elizabeth. ::A slight downward nod of his head was offered to her before lowering the arm that Isabelles hand rested on. He would make his way to the seats at the table pulling a chair out for Isabelle. Once she sat he would then seat himself. His eyes wandered over the contents of the table for a few seconds before his gaze drifted over to Cerdwyn and Elizabeth:: How do things go in Vangard these days? From what I have seen on arrival, you have a magnificent Kingdom. ::He knew looks could be deceiving. Tirnanog didn't look so bad but with the recent events had proved otherwise::
: Isabelle smiled to Desmond when he pulled out the seat for her, making herself comfortable in the chair as her hands went to her. A nod was given to Desmond's words, brows raising slightly to his comment. "Yes, I agree. Your lands are certainly lovely. As is you're home," she finished with a soft smile. The palace was certainly very beautiful, the lands matched completely. Light orbs shifted from the two women to give a glance to the lovely arrangements of food for all of them to enjoy in each other's company. Her gaze than wandered back to the ladies, listening to the blossoming conversation with interest. :
Elizabeth would offer a nod in greeting as she was introduced. "Greetings to you both." Elizabeth would move to pull out her seat next to where Cerdwyn would be sitting. A soft smile would form as the complimented the lands and the castle. She had grown to really love Vangard now that she was here, it was always nice to hear of someone sharing the same feelings. Liz would, however, remain silent for the time being. She would smooth out her skits before hands would move to fold upon her lap.
She had taken her seat as well, turning that ocean gaze to the king and his queen when they gave their compliments. It actually seemed to brighten those porcelain features just a little. However, with Desmond's question of the kingdom's fairing, her smile faltered a little...only a little, because she otherwise looked full of pride. Not in a conceited way, but Vangard had gone through so much the past few years, and she was simply proud of the work her people had put into rebuilding it. "We've been through a rough time, but still standing strong." She wouldn't go into details unless they absolutely wished to know. "I thank you for your kind compliments." It truly meant a lot and seemed to keep that...darkness within at bay. Leaning back a little in her seat, hands would fold neatly in her lap. "Wine?" she asked the three before looking to the women standing about who were willing and waiting to assist them should they need anything.
I see....Well if any assistance is needed you will have friends in us. It is why we are here is it not? Majesty? ::Another smile would curve his lips for a few seconds in reassurance before giving a nod to a drink of wine:: That would great...So, I found interest in forming an alliance not only because we are neighboring kingdoms but I think we have a lot to offer one another. With our Kingdoms bound it will surely only make us stronger to any threat and with trade fulfil the needs of the people and boost our economies. I have never heard a citizen complain about having more money in their pocket.
Elizabeth would nod gently in to the offer of the wine. Gaze would then shift back to Desmond listening to what he was saying. She would nod gently in agreeance. It all made sense, there was doubt about that in Liz's mind. Gaze shifted to Cerdwyn, nodding in agreement to what he had said. Her gaze lingered for a moment before shifting back to the pair. Liz was here to help her friend, but the show was Cerdwyn's, Liz would interject if she though it was appropriate, or if it was asked of her.
That smile returned, and she'd nod along with his words, "Yes, indeed it is. And I must thank you once more for wishing for an alliance. I believe it will help us both out." A lift of her eyes, she'd silently thank the serving woman as she began to poor the wine. Cerdwyn would lean forward a bit to reach over and take a handful of grapes to place them upon the plate before her. She plucked one free before those eyes were back on the king, offering a small chuckle, "Aye, yes, I have never heard such either," came the reply to his comment about the citizens and more money. "We have much to offer that might please you and your people. I've requested a list from my chief merchant of available items if you wish to take back to Tirnanog to open trade. Or request items before you leave."
I will take a list with me. I will make sure you have one as well before myself and Isabelle depart Vangard. ::His hand came to clasp around the cup of wine. Bringing it to his lips he took a swig then rested the cup back down on table:: On the note of military support. I must ask if you currently have any enemies, or any other territories that may possibly want to pose an enemy threat to you..and vice versa...Tirnanog has no enemies thus far. We do have rebel groups shaking things up a bit, but nothing that we need assistance with as of now. ::He would lay it on the table. It would make the decisions easier and come to no surprise if he needed to call upon them in the future::
Chewing on a few grapes, she listened intently while Desmond spoke, nodding in regards to receiving a list herself. When he asked about enemies, Cerdwyn paused for a second as she idly looked to her friend beside her. As of the moment, no they didn't have any enemies...but they might possibly have a threat. She actually wasn't very sure about what she had seen in that mind travel to Sendaria. It had been that gathered dark power...and it looked as though it would break through. Elizabeth knew about this, but they hadn't spoken to much on it. The queen would lean back in her seat and look Desmond in the eye, truthfully. "I honestly cannot be sure. As of the moment we are at peace, however..." she paused for a second, drawing that cup of wine closer to her. "Many of the people here were citizens of the lands of Sendaria, which are now covered and corrupted by a dark power, that has killed the land. Some of it had followed us...but it dares not to pass our borders." Vangard was tainted with magic, both dark and light, but was never at conflict with it. In some ways, you could say that the lands were simply enchanted by it.
::He reached over grabbing a piece of bread taking a bite then placing it down on his plate. He listened nodding here and there as she spoke. There situation seemed to be strikingly close to Tirnanogs with the resistance and beings that festered in its dark lands. It was all rather Ironic:: I know your situation in general. We have our own darkness which stemmed from the corrupt ways of the former dark lord who was overthrown. It seems we face the same problems in that aspect. Something that can not be predicted. It only waits and festers to strike at the opportune moment. If only things were easier eh? ::He took another swig of his wine and bite of his bread. He would swallow the bread before continuing:: Do you have mages?
Elizabeth reached over taking some of the food in front of her and placing it on her plate. She would nod thank you as wine was poured for her. Gaze shifted between the two, listening as Cerdwyn explained about Sendaria. A sigh couldn't help but escape from her lips, always hurt when she though about it. She would gently shake her head and push those thoughts from her mind. Gaze moved back over as he asked about mages. A smirk couldn't help but form with that. "We most certainly do. Our fair Queen happens to be one of the most talented." Elizabeth was always in awe of her friends power. Cerdwyn had done much to both back in Sendaria, as well as here.
Cerdwyn seemed almost awe struck when he spoke of his own kingdom's issues, so similar to there's it seemed, if she heard him correctly. She simply couldn't stop envisioning the dark shadows, reaching outward, extending out to try and touch the lovely lands she tried so desperately to protect. Blue eyes would blink, and she felt...relieved in knowing Vangard wasn't so alone. Not that she wished any ill fate upon other lands, but it proved that these two kingdoms would form a strong bond, simply because of that understanding. Elizabeth had finally spoken up, gaining Cer's attention, and that soft, sincere smile would curl at her lips once again, nodding her thanks to her friend for the compliment. "We take pride in our magic, m'lord. There is even an academy dedicated to those who wish to learn the arcane art or improve on their skills." Cerdwyn's mother had founded it, having been a great mage and seer herself, more powerful than Cer could ever dream to be.
::He looked to Elizabeth as she spoke of the queen. Another smile rested his lips and a slight raise of his brows:: Is that so Lady Elizabeth? It is quite the talent. One I have never possessed. ::He picked up his cup looking back to Cerdwyn. Tirnanog had its mages but Desmond concidered the division of mages he had to still be under development. They had many hurdles to leap in that area. Most of what possesed any great knowledge of magic were those who lurked in the darkness. The same people and things out for his blood:: That is good. We recently opened a College of Mages. I am hoping it works out. I do not know much of magic myself so I will not talk as if I do. ::Another smile came to him as he finished his cup of wine:: Is there anything else generally speaking that we have to put on the table?
"It is quiet a talent. Neither have I unfortunately." The closest thing she had come to was the feeling of the dark power she had felt though her brother. But that was really only because of the twin connection. Gaze shifted to Cerdwyn there was no need for thanks, she deserved the compliment. As she spoke of the school Liz would smile shifted back to Desmond as he spoke of a college in his Kingdom. She would nod gently. As he arose with the question if there was anything they needed to put on the table. Hand would move to lift her glass to her lips as she pondered over that. Hues ticked to Cerdwyn, as she ran things over in her mind.
Her smile remained from the two speaking of her gift but his mention of a college similar to Vangard's perked her interest. "Well I am sure the college will do fine. Just one step at a time." With his next question, she would fall silent upon taking a sip of her wine as she thought about it. "Perhaps not too much more, no. We wish for trade and alliance of arms, yes?" The trade would be very useful for Vangard since they were still rebuilding and certain foods and other things were hard to come by at the time.
: Two guards dismounted their horses, moving to the carriage to assist their Queen. Isabelle had anxiously been awaiting putting her feet on ground again, finding the trip not nearly as exciting as she had been anticipating. Cerdwyn's mother had founded it, having been a great mage and seer herself, more powerful than Cer could ever dream to be.
